Francesco Cesarini

Francesco Cesarini's Photo Francesco Cesarini is the founder of Erlang Solutions Ltd. He has used Erlang on a daily basis for almost 15 years, starting as an intern at Ericsson's computer science laboratory, the birthplace of Erlang. He moved on to Ericsson's Erlang training and consulting arm working on the first release of OTP, applying it to turnkey solutions and flagship telecom applications. In 1999, soon after Erlang was released as open source, he founded Erlang Solutions, who have become the world leaders in Erlang based consulting, contracting, training and systems development. Francesco has worked in major Erlang based projects both within and outside Ericsson, and as Technical Director, is currently leading the development and consulting teams at ETC. He is also the co-author of Erlang Programming, a book recently published by O'Reilly.


Marcus Taylor

Marcus Taylor's Photo Marcus has a broad experience in the IT and telecoms sector and its application in sectors like banking, media, health and travel. He has worked for blue chip companies and helped create companies out of concepts. He has strong understanding of company management, project management, product management, human factors and product/service lifecycles. This is underpinned by constant reevaluation of the strategic issues associated with bringing new technologies and services to market. Over the past 20 years he has developed a strong sense of how to build a company and service.

As the CEO he has driven ETC to become the world leader in Erlang/OTP and provider of scalable systems. He has an MBA from Boston University and a BSc (Hons) in Ergonomics from Loughborough University. He grew up in Sweden, Singapore and Italy. .


Ulf Wiger
Chief Technical Officer
Ulf Wiger's Photo Ulf Wiger became one of the first commercial users of Erlang (certainly the first in North America) when he bought a license in 1993. At the time, he was busy designing disaster response systems in Alaska. In 1996, he joined Ericsson and became Chief Designer of the AXD 301 development. At nearly 2 million lines of Erlang code, AXD 301 is the most complex system ever built in Erlang, and probably the most complex commercial system built in any functional language. In recent years, Ulf has been involved in several products based on the AXD 301 architecture, and has been an active member of the Open Source Erlang community. In February 2009, Ulf began his new job as CTO of Erlang Solutions Ltd.


Frank Knight
Chief Operating Officer
Frank Knight's Photo Frank has an MSc in Technology Management from UMIST and over 25 years of operational and project management experience in both large multinational and small start-up companies. He has lived and worked in four countries in the Southern African Region as well as The Netherlands and the UK. He is focused on ensuring the back-end processes for the business are in place and working. He was responsible for gaining the company ISO9001 accreditation in January 2009. Frank also oversees the management of the Conference and Training operations of the business as well as being the Company Supervisor for the "E-Learning and E-Certification" KTP(1) project.

(1) Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is Europe's leading programme helping businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills that reside within the UK knowledge base (source: http://www.ktponline.org.uk/). These are joint venture projects between a University and a Company that are partly funded by UK Government grants. In the case of the above KTP projects, the University involved is the University of Kent in Canterbury.

Saida Ghulamali
Programme Manager
Saida Ghulamali's PhotoSaida is a Certified Project Manager with 25 years experience of delivering business and IT programmes for Users in financial services, telecomms and retail in the UK. She is currently running some of Erlang Training & Consulting's larger projects and oversees the ETC Programme Office. Since joining ETC in October 2007, Saida has been instrumental in establishing planning, development, testing and production support standards within projects delivered using the Agile  iterative methodology. Saida supports the management team in recruitment, staff development and coaching. The project development process is evolving and has been ISO9001 certified. Saida's key responsibilities are producing high level programme and detailed project plans, monitoring and control, ensuring delivery to agreed milestones using Agile methods. She is also managing ETC's contribution in the ProTest - EU funded research project.


Michal Slaski
Manager Poland
Michal Slaski's Photo A Senior Software Consultant at Erlang Solutions, Michal Slaski started programming in Erlang on the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland, when working on his Masters prototyping massively multiplayer online games. After graduating, he joined Erlang Solutions on key projects around the world. He is currently heading Erlang Solutions's new Krakow office in Poland, keeping the Erlang flag up high.



Kimmo Gläborg
MD, Nordic Countries
Entrepreneur at heart, Kimmo has over 12 years of experience in it-infrastructure and business technology working for media companies such as Lowe, Leo Burnett and International Data Group (IDG).

Kimmo founded Streamfile.com (an Erlang/OTP based digital courier platform) in 2007 and has since then developed a strong sense of what is required to start a company from scratch, -and how Erlang/OTP can help building scalable systems at minimal cost.

Even though he was brought up and stayed most his life in Stockholm, he has lived and worked in Italy, Dubai and Vietnam.
