Øredev: Message-passing Concurrency in Erlang (Malmo, Sweden)
A week before the Erlang User Conference,  there will be another very interesting conference in Sweden – Øredev.  Øredev is a conference  focused on the software development process, where nearly 1000 programmers, developers, engineers, educators, testers and managers gather to share their knowledge and experience. This year’s speakers will focus on delivering methodological approaches or technical knowledge that you can put into practice in your daily work.

The conference will be held in Malmo, from 2nd to 6th November 2009.  You can meet us there on Friday , 5th November between 14:15 and 15:05, when Ulf Wiger (Erlang Training and Consulting CTO) will talk about Message-passing Concurrency in Erlang. In this talk, he will describe the principles behind Erlang-style Concurrency - what problems it was designed to solve, and how it fundamentally changes the way you go about structuring your programs. He will illustrate how to achieve great scalability on multicore and in compute clouds, without sacrificing clarity or your own sanity.
