TCP/IP Erlang Thesis Presentation ++ ErlLounge (London, UK)
You are welcome to attend a thesis presentation on TCP/IP intensive Erlang based systems. Oscar has evaluated the Erlang VM's behavior in network intensive systems, both in traffic volume and in the number of concurrently open sockets. The result is a set of VM and OS related optimizations which, depending on the traffic profile, will improve overall performance and reliability. The presentation starts at 18.00 in the conference room of our offices and is followed by an Erl Lounge. An ErlLounge is a gathering, open to anyone wishing to participate, where people meet in a restaurant, bar, pub or similar establishment to consume beverages (originally mostly beer), eat food and talk about Erlang (in that order). They were first held in the UK in 2001, and have been a regular occurrence ever since. The next Erl Lounge will start after the thesis presentations with Pizza in our conference room at 19.00 and move on to Grapeshots, #2 Artillery Passage. Welcome!
