Seminar on Erlang For Five Nines (Oxford, UK)
Francesco Cesarini will be holding a seminar for the Software Engineering Research Group at Oxford University Computing Laboratory. It will be Erlang and its rapidly growing community, showing how 99,999% availability has been achieved on existing systems, and describing why Erlang programs are generally 4 - 10 times shorter than their counterparts in Java, C and C++. The talk will also go into why Erlang, originally invented for telecom products, has been successful in a much wider range of sectors than originally intended. If you are interested in attending, there are a limited number of places by invitation available for outsiders. Please contact us for more details.
